About Laurie Firestone

A California native, Laurie G. Firestone’s life has followed an interesting and diverse career path. For several years she lived in Washington D.C. where she served as Social Secretary for Vice President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara Bush. In 1988, the President and Barbara Bush named Laurie White House Social Secretary. Her duties included planning and executing State dinners, luncheons, and receptions for the President and First Lady. President Bush also appointed Mrs. Firestone to represent the US and lead the Delegation to Mauritius for their Republic Day.

Mrs. Firestone’s public appearances include protocol analyst on CNN and MSNBC, color commentator for C-SPAN’s coverage of  White House State Dinners, and White House entertaining on ABC's "Good Morning America.” For the film The American President, Castlerock Entertainment asked Laurie Firestone to be their White House consultant.

Mrs. Firestone is the author of  “An Affair to Remember ~ State Dinners for Home Entertaining”. She serves on the Board of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation and served on the Presidents Committee for Arts and Humanities for eight years. Throughout her career Laurie has been closely associated with several civic and charitable organizations. She is the mother of four and grandmother of ten.



About Gloria Malouf
Family, Fashion and Food have always been the center of Gloria's life. With that comes her passion for details. Details are what makes the difference and distinguish her from others in all she does. She learned from watching her grandmother whose eye for detail while sewing as seamstress set her apart from all the others. Her Mother, Grandmothers, and Aunts taught her to value time at the table with family and friends, and to value good manners and etiquette.

Since graduating from San Jose State with a degree in Advertising, Gloria has been working with leading retailers such as, Smith and Hawken, Pottery Barn, Enson Kids, and Malouf's in product development, merchandising and buying . Her last 8 years as fashion director and buyer for womens wear and accessories at Malouf's gave her the opportunity to teach women how to dress for every social and business occasion . First impressions always begin with how we present ourselves, before we say hello. It is up to each of us to execute the proper etiquette in every social setting.

Community Services Gloria is very active within the Burlingame/Hillsborough/San Mateo community. She serves on the board at Filoli Gardens and is a current member of Family Services. She is a sustainer with Parca Auxiliary and past co-chair for the annual fashion show for two years. She is interested in working with children and developing as a major force in
educating children to develop social skills to enrich their lives.

She is currently working as a Fashion Consultant with private clients and developing a childrens dress line She has two beautiful daughters, Eleanora 7 and Isabella 4.
