Etiquette or manners, are a set of rules and procedures that help guide you through all of your activities every day. It is a French word that literally means little signs. Good manners are a code of behavior, once learned can be used for a lifetime. Our program SimonSaysPlease is specifically designed to teach young children good manners in a fun, and nurturing environment through games, crafts and role playing. BASIC MANNERS AND ETIQUETTE

Table manners

Children will have the chance to learn and practice dining skills. The class will cover the ABC's of table manners, understanding place settings, uses of the napkin, passing food at the table, posture at the table, conversation at the table, how to correctly hold and use a knife and fork, American versus Continental styles of dining, how to deal with unwanted food and how to properly set the table, as well as other dining issues.

Children are introduced to the importance of having good manners and how using good manners will improve their relationships with their friends, family and teachers. We
will cover basic rules of etiquette, making good impressions, greetings and introductions, conversation
and listening skills, and being kind and considerate to all.

Table manners

This workshop will address all of the ways in which we communicate with each other, and the most effective and well-mannered way to do so. We will cover presentation skills, letter writing, thank-you notes, addressing envelopes, titles, e-mails, how to properly place and answer telephone calls, as well as cell-phone etiquette.

Children spend as much time in the public as they do at school and at home, and therefore, it is important for them to know how to conduct themselves when they are out. This workshop will address courtesy and respect for neighbors, respect for other people's property, mall manners, sidewalk manners, how to behave at the movies, live performances, museums, churches and libraries, how to be a courteous traveler, and the dos and don'ts of sports etiquette.
